Our Journey so far

The four founding schools of our Trust have a longstanding history of collaboration, having worked together within Stockport for over ten years. Throughout this time, they have shared practices and policies in various ways, fostering a strong foundation of mutual support and learning.

Recognising the potential to further enhance outcomes for learners, the school leaders began exploring more formal methods of collaboration. This includes extending professional development opportunities, moderating across different settings, sharing key priorities, and serving as critical friends. Additionally, by pooling resources, we aim to procure more effectively and save on costs, ensuring that our focus remains on delivering the best possible education for our learners.

The schools have continued to work closely, and in the wake of the pandemic, they have sought to further strengthen their partnerships. This ongoing collaboration delivers an even more robust offer to our learners with a wide range of additional needs, both in mainstream and special settings. After a successful academy application was submitted in the spring of 2023, academy orders were granted in October 2023. The Trust officially opened its doors on September 1st, 2024, marking the beginning of a new chapter in our shared commitment to providing inclusive and high-quality education for all.

Lisburne School are scheduled to move into their new premises in November 2024 and become an academy within the Trust from December 2024.
